I spent about 45 minutes watching the wild mustangs, saw a huge snake, and watched two blackbirds chase a hawk.
I climbed the standard Mount Garfield trail and it is a very fun little hike (2000 vertical feet in 2 miles) and great training for 14ers.
The tunnel to the trailhead was full of water so I took off my shoes and walked through it- it was actually about 2 feet deep!
Mount Garfield gets very hot in the summer so I'm glad I got to see a few flowers while they are still alive.
Eek! 😐😐
I had the top all to myself!
